At Microsoft, the culture focused on how many M365 / Windows / Services licenses could be sold to clients and how to outperform the previous quarter’s fiscal earnings. The emphasis was not on building a new revolutionary product or service, it was all about exceeding quarterly projections.
At Apple we knew that if you made great products, you didnt have to worry about exceeding quarterly projections.
